The CD & 7 short films were put together in 8 weeks. Before arriving in Memphis I had a list of sounds to locate and record. These were given to me by Memphians after an article in the Memphis Flyer talking about the project and asking them to submit their ‘sounds of Memphis. I increased this list as I peddled and talked my way round town. While completing the recordings I documented all the locations visually – this documentation became the source material for the films that accompany each of the tracks. The choice is yours. Build reBuild / Social sculpture - Binmen Clearing rubbish, demolition – Tennesse / Front St, warning sirens. 2 bodhran players – Ireland, Lambeg drummers, Loyalist marching drums, Northern Ireland. African Djembe played by David Aylward. The Metal Museum making the gates for the Dr. Martin Luther King Memorial Park, hand hammering, air hammering & grinding.

Visitor buses crossing Graceland gates, Central station waiting room, Dial up internet & bicycle wheel, my main communication & transport while in Memphis.
